CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) -- Entering the 2025 season looks a lot like it did back in 2023 when the Illini were coming off an 8-5 record season.
But this year they have more momentum and national attention currently at #12 in the coaches preseason poll.
Players say they learned a lot from two seasons ago to keep the wins coming but also staying humble with more eyes on the program.
The University announced their game at home against Ohio State is sold out. The Illini will host the defending national champions Saturday October 11.
This will also mark back to back season the Orange and Blue host the reigning champs, last season they defeated Michigan on the 100th anniversary game.
