CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) - According to multiple reports, European talents Mihailo Petrovic and Toni Bilic will depart the Illinois men's basketball program and enter the transfer portal.
Draft Express was the first to report the news of Petrovic, who saw limited minutes with the Illini this past season. The Serbian appeared in 18 games throughout the 2025-26 campaign, most frequently in situations where the outcome of games had already been decided.

Petrovic's best game came against UTRGV, where he scored 12 points and added 4 assists in 16 minutes of action. During the season, he averaged 1.7 ppg, 1.2 assists, and 0.7 rebounds.

Both players undoubtably held roles in strengthening the European culture in the Illini locker room. Six of the 15 players on Illinois' roster during the past season had roots connecting them to Europe.
