CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) - University of Illinois Athletics announced a sponsorship with Caterpillar on Wednesday, including on-field branding at Gies Memorial Stadium.Â
Through the multi-year partnership, the Caterpillar logo will be displayed on both 25-yard-lines, according to Illinois Athletics. Â
It will mark the first on-field logo in the stadium's illustrious history.Â
"Both Fighting Illini Athletics and Caterpillar have a proud legacy and respected reputation in the state of Illinois, and we are each experiencing sustained growth and success. I want to thank Caterpillar for their collaboration, and we look forward to building our relationship in the years ahead," said Illinois Director of Athletics Josh Whitman in a statement.Â
Gies Memorial Stadium has undergone several changes ahead of the Illini's 2026 season.Â
Most notably, U of I Athletics and Daktronics partnered to install the largest video display in college football.
