WARRENSBURG, Ill. (WAND) - Challenged throughout the championship game, Saint Teresa girls' basketball were able to hang on to win their first Macon County Tournament title since 2021.

The #3 seeded Bulldogs edged out top-seeded Maroa-Forsyth 57-48 to clinch the crown, led by Mya Howley and Sole Corley who combined for 41 points. The Trojans were without leading scorer Avery Braden, who suffered an injury in the semifinal.

In the third place game, Warrensburg-Latham took on Meridian, where the Cardinals led much of the contest. Entering the final quarter, the hosts led by 5, but the Hawks erased the deficit on their way to a 50-45 comeback win.

A tight contest in the consolation bracket led to a final between Argenta-Oreana and Cerro Gordo-Bement. The Broncos maintained the upper-hand and finshed the tournament strong with a close 40-39 victory.
