A chilly morning leads to a mild and windy afternoon

DECATUR, IL. (WAND) - Happy Thursday! After some patchy frost this morning, warmer temperatures are on the way for the weekend. Temperatures today will warm up much faster than yesterday. We will go from the 30s to the 60s by the afternoon. There will be a mix of sun and clouds today, with winds gusting around 25 to 30 mph. Rain chances will stay further north for most of the day, but a stray shower is possible this evening.

Temperatures will be about 10 degrees warmer on Friday morning in the upper 40s. Mostly cloudy skies will lead to some rain chances for the afternoon. Steady showers will move through the afternoon and evening. Showers will exit overnight, and clear skies will take over for Saturday.

Saturday is looking gorgeous. Temperatures will warm up very quickly with plenty of sunshine. High temperatures will hit the upper 70s by the afternoon. Rain chances will return for Mother's Day on Sunday. This will keep temperatures cooler, with highs staying in the upper 60s. Temperatures are trending upwards next week.
