A chilly start to the morning.png

DECATUR, IL. (WAND) - Happy Thursday! Temperatures are going to be on the chilly side this morning with lows in the teens and single digits. Wind chills are in the negatives in a few places. Feels-like temperatures will be in the teens most of the day. There are some chances for freezing fog this morning for areas along I-57 and north of I-74. This could cause slick spots for the morning drive.

Flurry chances will move through the region this afternoon. Temperatures will climb into the low 30s with overcast skies hanging around all day. Temperatures will be much warmer overnight in the 20s with winds out of the west and south. This will lead to our first day in the 40s in three weeks, on Friday afternoon.

The warmer temperatures will be short-lived as clouds will clear overnight into early Saturday morning. This will lead to temperatures dropping into the teens by Saturday morning. Saturday will be the first day with sunshine in February.

Next week is looking substantially warmer. Highs will return to the 50s for Monday and Tuesday of next week. The next chance for rain and snow won’t arrive until the middle of next week.
