DECATUR, IL. (WAND) - It is an extremely cold start to the week as temperatures have plunged behind the snow. Wind chills will be around negative 20 to negative 10 for most of the day. Sunny skies will give way to clouds for the afternoon. Winds will pick up tonight with gusts expected to be around 25 to 30 mph. This could lead to some blowing snow and poor visibility late tonight into early Tuesday morning.

Temperatures will stay in the positives tonight with a low just above 0 expected. Wind chills will warm up slightly on Tuesday afternoon, and we should climb into the single digits.

Temperatures will be well below freezing through the end of the week. Precipitation chances look slim through the weekend. No major snow or rain events are anticipated through the weekend.

Stay warm and stay safe!
