DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - Showers and a rumble of thunder dotted the Illinois landscape again Thursday. Little rain was had, but the source region of our latest air mass will send another batch of rain our way.

This next batch will be in the form of showers and thunderstorms Friday. While the day may start dry, showers will break out later in the morning, blossoming into some thunderstorms during the afternoon. The main concentration of storms may be near and south of I-72 by day's end. This bout of wet weather will be quite a bit more than Thursday, but no flooding is expected.

A nice break with sunshine returns Saturday. The FatA5k race for charity gets underway in Springfield Saturday morning with beautiful weather. Check it out!

Additional storms are expected for part of Saturday night and early on Mother's Day.

Stay safe and stay weather-aware.
