DECATUR, IL. (WAND) - Happy Tuesday! Milder air and gusty winds have arrived signaling a change in the weather pattern.
Temperatures are warming into the upper 20s and low 40s this afternoon as southerly flow picks up. Winds will gust up to 40 mph by tonight. This is all ahead of a clipper system that plans to bring scattered rain showers late tonight and briefly overnight.
As the system passes, we transition to a northerly/northwesterly flow that will quickly return to our chilly temperatures. As we cool down, we’ll transition back to snowflakes as isolated showers taper linger behind the system. Gusty winds into tomorrow morning may bring concerns for blowing snow or isolated snow squalls which create hazardous travel conditions due to lowered visibility. Stay weather aware heading into work tomorrow morning.Â
Behind this, a few more chances for snow showers will return, along with a steady decline in temperatures heading into the weekend.Â
