DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - Shower activity popped up in a couple spots just south of Fayette County earlier today. However, in typical drought fashion, those showers fizzled as the depth of higher humidity just was not there yet.

Tomorrow is a different day, not so much in terms of heat, but even higher humidity. That may help lend toward minor shower development, but once again, the depth of higher humidity will be lacking, so do not get any hopes up.  

Summer warmth will stick around into early next week. Always remember, though, averages are the product of extremes. It will be cool before you know it.
