DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) — A group of Decatur food businesses are teaming up to introduce a new fall festival to Downtown Decatur.
Coney McKane's American Eatery, Jimmy John's, the Original Del's Popcorn Shop and CM Catering will present the first ever Downtown Decatur Fall Family Festival, with intent of making it an annual event.
The festival, which doubles as a fundraiser for Huntington's Disease, will cover Merchant Street and Prairie Avenue, with each street appealing to different crowds.
Merchant Street is meant for all ages, featuring an inflatable obstacle course and the Boy Scouts' S.T.E.M. trailer.
Prairie Avenue is for adults 21 and up, featuring a beer garden, putting green and a bags tournament with a $500 prize.
The two streets will be connected by a stage, with performances throughout the day from The Standalone Steves, Ryan Mundy and DJ T.A.T.
"We want this to feel familiar," said Coney McKane's and CM Catering Owner Nick Cox. "Downtown Decatur has hosted so many memorable events over the years. We're taking all the events people remember and blending them into something fresh."
The festival will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, October 18.
