DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - April gives way to May, but Mother Nature doesn't care. Â
The average high temperature for May 1st is 69 degrees. Mother Nature doesn't care. Â
Planting season is underway. Mother Nature doesn't care.Â
A broad area of low pressure over the Canadian Plains with its associated counterclockwise wind flow will continue to usher doses of cool air into the region. Every now and then, showers and thunderstorms return, but for the time being, no severe weather is expected. Â
One of these disturbances that can trigger showers or sprinkles will slide through later Friday/Friday night. The clouds that come with this feature may very well keep frost away for most areas. However, clear skies return Saturday night with temperatures back into the 30s and a higher risk of patchy frost. Â
Stay tuned, stay warm and stay weather-aware.Â
