Decatur, Ill. (WAND) - Drive around town and you may notice trees starting to turn color and leaves beginning to fall.

It's not uncommon for some trees to loose their leaves earlier on in the season, but there seems to be more than normal doing that.

The lack of rainfall can actually lead to trees dropping their leaves prematurely, which in return can lead to a shorter, less vibrant, and duller display across the area.

Peak fall foliage season looks to be focused around October 25th, but we may notice an earlier season this year, if the drought continues to worsen.
