DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - The Decatur Police Department is requesting over half a million dollars for a new contract with a law enforcement equipment and service provider.

A resolution at tonight's council meeting will approve a five-year contract with Axon Enterprise, which offers various body and dash cam tools, as well as software to review evidence and assist in identifying suspects in videos.

The annual cost of the contract will be up to $552,000.

After a vote, the resolution passed with six members in favor, and one opposed.
