NEW BERLIN, Ill. (WAND) — The Sangamon County Fair Board will host a free community appreciation event in March.
The board said sponsors, volunteers and community members are invited to the Sangamon County Fairgrounds for an evening of appreciation at 6 p.m. on March 28.Â
According to the board, the event is a "thank you to the many individuals, businesses and families who make the Sangamon County Fair a success year after year."
There will be drinks available for purchase, a complimentary taco and nacho bar while supplies last, opportunities to win cash and prizes, and live entertainment by 90's country tribute band Neon Rodeo.
A food drive will also be held during the event to benefit local food pantries. Anyone who brings a donation will be entered into a giveaway, with drawings planned throughout the night.
"This event is about celebrating the people who make our fair possible," said Fair Board President Roy Pierceall. "We are proud to be part of such a supportive community and look forward to a great night together."
