Danville Public Library gets new library director

DANVILLE, Ill. (WAND) - The Danville Public Library announced Christopher Leggins has been hired as its new Director. 

Leggins, 30, served as an overnight circulation supervisor and stacks maintenance manager at Illinois State's Milner Library for nearly three years and worked part-time at the Normal Public Library. 

He is a first-time director. Leggins said, "I envision a library that embraces innovation, champions inclusivity, and evolves with the changing needs of our patrons, providing access not just to information, but to opportunity." 

The community is invited to meet Leggins on Oct. 6 from 4-6 p.m. at the Danville Public Library.
