DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - The Perkins Restaurant in Decatur abruptly closed its doors Tuesday.
The restaurant is located at 2999 N. Monroe Street on the corner of W. Pershing Road.Â
A sign on the door said, "We regret to announce that this Perkins is temporarily closed." Two people who came out of the restaurant told a WAND News photojournalist they did not know when the restaurant would reopen. They did not disclose why the restaurant closed.Â
Perkins Restaurant and Bakery is owned by Ascent Hospitality Management, which owns both Perkins and Huddle House. Most locations are franchised to local owners.Â
Macon County Property Records list Blackstone Group has the owners of the property. It's not clear who runs the location.Â
Perkins operates hundreds of locations across the U.S., including four in Illinois.Â
The Perkins closure, while temporary, follows permanent closures of other Decatur area restaurants, including Huddle House in January, and Sonic and Hickory River Smokehouse in late 2024.
