JACKSONVILLE, Ill. (WAND) - The City of Jacksonville is encouraging the community to send in their time capsule letters for future generations to enjoy.
The deadline for completed capsule envelopes is Monday, March 2.
Envelopes will be available for $20 and can be picked up at the Jacksonville Area Chamber of Commerce, according to the City.
Letters can include personal stories, reflections of life in present-day Jacksonville, milestones within local organizations, schools, or businesses, etc.
"This is our chance to speak directly to the future, sharing who we are, what we value, and what this moment in Jacksonville’s history means to us," said Jacksonville Mayor Andy Ezard in a statement.
