DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) — The countdown to Christmas is on, and St. Paul's Lutheran Church geared up Sunday with their annual Jingle Jam celebration.
"The first hour, we have games, Christmas story stations, card making, cupcake decorating and just a lot of family fun to get them in the Christmas spirit," said Eric Davies, the director of the church's children's ministry. "And then we have a 10:30 service where we try and make it very family friendly."
Jingle Jam is a two-hour Sunday morning experience filled with Christmas themed activities. Davies said this five-year tradition has given families the opportunity to have fun together. The goal is to welcome people into a place of worship.
"The first year that we did it, I just never forget, there was a mom who came up to me afterwards and cried because she said, 'I've been looking for something like this where I can teach my kids,'" said Kristin Harman, the director of Christian education.
Organizers said the event continues to grow. For more information on the services St. Paul's has, visit their website.
