DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) – Old King’s Orchard Community Center (OKO) is celebrating the grand opening of its new outdoor basketball court, “King’s Court.”
A ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place on Monday, Oct. 13, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at 815 N. Church St., Decatur.
The event will include family-friendly activities such as face painting, bounce houses, live music, and basketball contests for all ages, with food provided by Deboe’s and OKO.
Chris Ellis, Board Chair of OKO, emphasized that King’s Court is a safe space for youth to connect and be active.
“King’s Court is more than just a basketball court, it’s a safe place where young people can come together, be active, and build lifelong connections,” said Ellis. “This project reflects OKO’s ongoing commitment to creating opportunities and safe spaces for the youth in our community.”
The event is free and open to the public.
