Danville police have made an arrest in connection with a double homicide case from November 2024.

DANVILLE, Ill. (WAND) — Danville police have made an arrest in connection with a double homicide case from November 2024.

In collaboration with the Vermilion County State’s Attorney’s Office, the Danville Police Department announced that on October 6, 2025, at approximately 9:04 a.m., officers arrested 21-year-old Keshawn J. Cotton of Danville.

Cotton has been charged with first-degree murder and aggravated battery with a firearm.

According to the Danville PD, the shooting occurred on November 27, 2024, at approximately 2:45 p.m. in the 1900 block of E. Main Street.

Two victims, 33-year-old Keith G. Stone from Danville and a 17-year-old juvenile, died from their injuries. A third victim was injured but has since been released from the hospital.

Additionally, a warrant for first-degree murder has been issued for a 17-year-old juvenile suspect, who is currently in custody on unrelated charges. The identity of this suspect is being withheld pending formal processing regarding the warrant for first-degree murder and aggravated battery with a firearm.

The Illinois State Police assisted the Danville Police Department in processing the crime scene and collecting evidence. This investigation remains active.
