SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) - The Illinois Department of Transportation announced a 1.6-mile resurfacing project on Dirksen Parkway from Stevenson Dr. to just south of South Grand Ave. starts today.Â
Work will be done by the beginning of August, IDOT said.Â
Lane closures are expected, but at least one traffic lane in each direction will stay open at all times.Â
Other work includes should and sidewalk maintenance and traffic signal improvements.Â
