JACKSONVILLE, Ill. (WAND) — A new "Instagrammable" landmark has arrived in downtown Jacksonville.
The Jacksonville Area Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) announced that a collaboration with the city helped bring structure to the historic downtown. The installation stands at over eight feet tall and depicts a silhouette of the state of Illinois with the city's icon and the hashtag #JacksonvilleIL.
Located on the corner of Main and College, the CVB hopes that the monument will stand as an emblem to Jacksonville's commitment to urban revitalization while also honoring its heritage.
"This initiative underscores the synergy between the CVB and the City, said Brittany Henry, Executive Director of the Jacksonville CVB. "We believe in reimagining Jacksonville while staying rooted to our legacy. This Instagrammable spot is a testament to that belief."
The installation invites all to capture and share their moments, fostering a digital connection that will further promote Jacksonville's unique blend of historic charm and modern allure.

Jacksonville Mayor Andy Ezard poses with the new monument unveiled in downtown Jacksonville at the corner of Main and College.
Mayor Andy Ezard commented, "We are thrilled to create such a space where residents and visitors can create and share their Jacksonville stories. This project shows our commitment to keep moving forward while also remembering the heart of who we are, reflecting the essence of Jacksonville."
The CVB and the City extend an invitation to the Jacksonville community and beyond to visit, snap, and share their experiences at the new landmark.
