CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) - City of Champaign leaders want to build up capacity in its sewer system to prepare for additional development in the area. 

Core Spaces Inc. will build a 12-inch sewer line in the alley south of Green Street. 

The line would run up Third Street, cross the Boneyard Creek Channel and connect with Healey Street.

Construction would begin summer of 2026 and is expected to take two years to complete.
