DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) — With millions geared up for kickoff, the Super Bowl is about more than just football — it is also about food.
The Pizza Place on Main owner said the Super Bowl is one of their busiest days of the year.
"I would say probably double the business. It's just that every holiday has been busier and busier, so I'm not sure what to expect. I know we're going to have our work cut out for us, though," said manager Madison Parks.
The Pizza Place on Main is a family-owned restaurant. For nearly three years, the parlor has offered a Super Bowl special.
Parks said preparing for the big game comes with major responsibilities.
"We have one option that is a large one. Topping pizza with six breadsticks and a two liter or, a larger order, which is going to be two large pizzas, single topping with 12 breadsticks and another two liter," said Parks.
Instead of ordering pizza from chain restaurants, Parks encourages the community to support local businesses.
"We help the community," said Parks. "We had a fire the other night. We went and fed the firefighters and the people on the scene."
Whether you were rooting for the Seahawks or Patriots, customers said the pizza was the real winner.
