DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - The WAND October Educator of the Month is Amanda Seider.
Seider is a high school social studies teacher at Eisenhower High School in Decatur.
Here's an excerpt from her nomination:
"Not only has she been the cheer coach/sponsor for several years, she is also the Junior and Senior class Sponsor. She oversees Homecoming Activities and Prom. Students seek her out for help with homework and coping advice. She is a nurturer and has a constant jovial attitude."
Seider's win came with a personalized plaque and $500.
WAND's Educator of the Month series aims to honor outstanding individuals in education across central Illinois.
