MONTICELLO - Monticello authorities say one person is dead and another injured after a vehicle crashed into a restaurant during the morning hours of December 20.
Monticello police say Decatur resident Robert Howard, 79, suffered a heart attack while driving his vehicle through Monticello on Saturday. Police say the heart attack led to Howard's vehicle crashing into the Red Wheel Restaurant.
Howard was pronounced dead at a local hospital. Authorities say a woman working in the restaurant at the time suffered minor injuries.
