Generic ambulance

RANTOUL, Ill. (WAND) - One person is dead following a medical emergency at a Rantoul aquatic center Monday afternoon. 

The Rantoul Fire Department said on Facebook that firefighters along with Rantoul police and Arrow Ambulance were called around 4 p.m. to the Hap Parker Family Aquatic Center. 

First responders arrived within minutes and found lifeguards performing CPR. 

Rantoul FD stated that during an investigation that the person was in the water for seconds before a lifeguard stepped in to help. 

The Champaign County Coroner's Office is investigating, and the person's name will not be released at this time.
