JACKSONVILLE, Ill. (WAND) - A 17-year-old has been arrested for a shooting in Jacksonville.
An officer with the Jacksonville Police Department said they saw the teen who had a valid juvenile warrant for his arrest.
The warrant stemmed from a reported shooting at the corner of Dunlap and N. Main on Thursday, September 21.
After a brief foot chase, the juvenile was taken into custody.
In addition to the original warrant for Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm, the juvenile was arrested for Resisting/Obstructing a Peace Officer and Possession of a Firearm by Someone Under the Age of 18.
As a precaution, Lincoln Elementary School was placed on lock down for a short period of time.
