DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) -- Decatur Firefighters are investigating what started a fire that caused damage to two homes.
It happened around 4:30 p.m. Saturday near the corner of North Street and Pine Street.Â
Firefighters said, they were called out for two homes on fire with people still inside.Â
When they arrived, they found two two-story homes in flames. The fire started in one home and spread next door.Â
Decatur Fire Dept. said, one person was rescued from both homes. They were checked out by first responders and did not to go the hospital.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.Â
The Red Cross is helping the people who were displaced.
