MONTICELLO, Ill. (WAND) — Aundie Owens and her mother Rhea Morallos always shared a bond over being University of Illinois alums. Now, that bond has grown deeper as they're launching their own coffee shop, Adegacha.

Where does the word Adegacha come from?

"I have a younger sister, she's five years younger than me but our nighttime routine was always like 'goodnight don't let the bed bugs bite...adegacha!' Adegacha is just like an all encompassing word to say like I love you, I care about you, you mean a lot to me, take care of yourself," said Owens.

Morallos and her husband moved from the Philippines and she says coffee became a necessity for her. Now she's partnered with her daughter to share their love of coffee with central Illinois and southern California.

They've even named the coffee blends to help push the theme of family.

"Our regular is called the Legacy Blend and our decaf is called the Heritage Blend, which really goes towards the theme of family and taking care of you guys and your legacy," stated Owens.
