New City Manager Picked For Decatur

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. (WAND) - The Bloomington City Council is expected to vote on whether to hire Decatur City Manager Tim Gleason as the city's top administrator.

It is a four year appointment and would start July 23 if he is approved for the position of Bloomington City Manager.

Council members have said they support the hire.

Gleason's first-year salary would be $185,000 and give him $7,500 in moving expenses and $550 a month for a vehicle allowance.

The council approved a decision back in February to move forward with filling the permanent City Manager vacancy.

Gleason was chosen from 31 applicants.
