DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) – Police responded to two bomb threats at health care facilities in Decatur.
Officers say the bomb threats were sent in to Decatur Manor Healthcare, located at 1016 W. Pershing Road, and Decatur Memorial Hospital. Police investigated both threats and determined both of them were not credible.
Macon County law enforcement is looking at a third unspecified bomb threat in its jurisdiction, the station has learned.
The threat emailed to DMH said a bomb would go off if a payment wasn’t made with Bitcoins, police say.
A DMH spokesperson told WAND-TV the hospital did not go on lockdown or evacuate and added that appointments scheduled for Thursday at the hospital should not be affected.
Police say there is no threat to the public on Thursday afternoon.
