URBANA, Ill. (WAND) — The man charged with shooting a Lyft driver in 2022 has been found guilty of four counts of murder.

Tyjohn Williams was found guilty of murdering Kristian Philpotts.

The News-Gazette reported that Chief Judge Randy Rosenbaum said, that he felt almost all of the witnesses lied in court or while making statements to the police.

Rosenbaum found enough evidence from the Urbana police and statements from two witnesses to find Williams guilty.

It's reported when the shooting occurred, there were three 17-year-olds in the Lyft ride. Two of the teens, Na'Shown Fenderson and Jaheim Dyer, pleaded guilty to obstruction of justice, and said Williams shot the driver.

Williams will be sentenced on January 30, 2025.
