CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) - A Champaign man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for a deadly shooting that happened last July.Â
Trevione Robinson, 20, pleaded guilty to one count of second-degree murder in the July 14 death of Jahiem Law, 20, of Champaign, The News Gazette reports.Â
Four other counts of murder and one count of aggravated battery with a firearm were all dropped as part of a plea deal.Â

Robinson was arrested on July 21, 2023. According to Champaign Police, two large groups were gathered and engaged in a physical altercation in a parking lot on July 13 in the 1700 block of S. State Street. During the altercation, Robinson used a firearm and fatally shot 20-year-old Jahiem Law and injured the leg of the 21-year-old woman.
Robinson was given credit for 289 days already served in jail and is eligible to serve 50 percent of his sentence.Â
