CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) - The Martens Center opened it's doors for the annual summer job fair, for both part time and full time opportunities.

"A lot of people have had their first jobs with us!" Heather Miller, Champaign Park District Director of Human Resources, said.

On Saturday, different departments within the park district set up their tables, inviting future employers to learn more.

"No job is too small!" Miller added. From lifeguards, to camp counselors, to gardeners in the parks, there is a little something for everyone.

Erin Dietmeier, Horticulture Supervisor, shared, "We offer positions to people that have absolutely no knowledge in the field. So if you're somebody that wants to get out there and learn, it's a great opportunity!"

Applications are open online, and the district hopes to connect with new faces ahead of warmer months! Miller added, it's a great way to learn life skills while having fun. "There's so many different aspects that people can really hold on to!"

With flexible scheduling, diverse ages, and hundreds of opportunities, Miller is eager to welcome new members to the summer team.

"We're super diverse. We've got lots of different people you can meet. And also, working the jobs is just fun!"
