CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) –The City of Champaign is encouraging community members to take part in America Recycles Day.
Â
The City along with members of Keep Champaign Beautiful will host a clean up event at Boneyard Creek on Saturday, October 26, from 10 a.m. to noon to pick up litter.
Â
A free pizza lunch will be provided immediately following the cleanup. For planning purposes, it is requested that volunteers pre-register at champaignil.gov/ard.
City officials say the event is a great way to keep the community engaged in clean-up efforts and to remove any litter that is cluttering up the waterways.
America Recycles Day is an initiative of Keep America Beautiful and is nationally held on November 15th to promote and celebrate recycling in the United States.
