ATHENS, Ill. (WAND) - An Athens man was sentenced to 28 years in prison for sexual exploitation of a child and possession of child pornography.Â
Christopher Wagy, 28, was sentenced on June 9.Â
The prosecution said Wagy bought multiple cell phones for a minor in another state and directed her to take explicit photos of herself. Wagy then shared those images on the internet. He continued to do this, despite the victim's family and law enforcement trying to intervene.Â
A federal grand jury returned an indictment against Wagy in July 2025. He pleaded guilty to all four counts in December 2025.Â
