Lee Bryson was arrested on April 22, 2026 after police said he stabbed two people in his apartment's parking lot.

DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - A 60-year-old Decatur man has pleaded guilty to stabbing two people during an altercation in April.

Lee Bryson pleaded guilty to aggravated battery with a deadly weapon on Aug. 7. As part of a negotiated plea agreement, three other charges were dismissed, according to court records.

A judge sentenced Bryson to 24 months of probation and 108 days in jail. Because he received credit for 108 days already served, Bryson will not face additional jail time. He was also ordered to have no contact with the victims, and his scheduled jury trial was canceled.

One person is hurt following an apparent stabbing in Decatur.

The charges stem from an April 23 incident near the Oxford House apartments in the 2700 block of North Monroe Street. According to a sworn statement, Bryson shoved a woman to the ground in a parking lot after being dropped off.

When another man in the group intervened to protect the woman, Bryson pulled out a folding knife, slicing the woman's arm and slashing the man's face.

During a search of Bryson's apartment, Decatur police recovered a folding knife with dried, blood-like residue on it.
