(WAND) - A 56-year-old Jacksonville chiropractor will serve time in federal prison after he defrauded health insurance companies for over $250,000.
The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Central District of Illinois said Sean Rondeau was sentenced to 366 days for crimes including healthcare fraud, three counts of mail fraud and five counts of wire fraud.Â
According to the attorney's office, when Rondeau discovered he was being investigated, he worked to convince clients to sign false documents to hide his actions.Â
Evidence showed that he had submitted more than 2,000 fraudulent claims.
Rondeau pleaded to the charges in December 2025.Â
He was ordered to pay over $260,000 in restitution.
