MATTOON, Ill. (WAND) — A man was arrested for home invasion, holding a young child by the neck and other charges in Mattoon Thursday night. 

Mattoon police responded to an apartment in the 1800 block of South 9th Street for a domestic incident. Officers were told 22-year-old Camron Chisam was holding a young child by the neck.

According to police, Chisam approached officers with a knife even after he was told to stop.

Police said they tased and arrested Chisam when he turned and started walking towards a bedroom where the victims were at.

The victims were an adult and two young children. They were all evaluated and cleared by medics on scene. 

Chisam was arrested for home invasion, aggravated assault, and resisting/obstructing a peace officer. 

He is awaiting a detention hearing at the Coles County Detention Center.
