URBANA, Ill. (WAND) — A grand jury indicted a Guatemalan national charged in a fatal hit-and-run crash in Urbana on further charges of false documents.
Julio Cucul Bol, a 29-year-old citizen of Guatemala, was arrested in January about an hour south of Dallas, Texas.
Urbana police believe Cucul Bol was driving a Mitsubishi Outlander when he rear-ended a Honda Civic that was slowing down at a traffic light on University Avenue at Coler Avenue on Jan. 19. Five people were in the Honda, and two were fatally injured:Â 21-year-old Chloe Polzin and 20-year-old Katherine J. Abraham.
When he was arrested by the United States Marshals Service in Milford, Texas, he originally gave a false name.
According to the U.S. Department of Justice, this false name was used on a bank application as well as a passport. The indictment further alleges that Cucul Bol allegedly possessed a Permanent Resident Card that was false and a Social Security card that was false.
If convicted of false use of a passport, possession of a false social security card and possession of a false permanent resident card, Cucul-Bol faces maximum statutory penalties of up to ten years of imprisonment, up to a $250,000 fine, and up to three years of supervised release on each count. The penalties for making a false statement on a bank application are up to 30 years of imprisonment, up to a $1,000,000 fine, and up to five years of supervised release.
