RANTOUL, Ill. (WAND) — A Rantoul school bus driver was arrested for predatory criminal sexual assault Thursday.
According to the Rantoul Police Department, 35-year-old Johnnie C. McClendon Jr. was arrested around 6 p.m. on allegations of predatory criminal sexual assault following an investigation by the department.
Police said McClendon is employed as a bus driver by First Student, Inc., which provides transportation services for the Rantoul City School District.
At this time, Rantoul police said investigators have not received any allegations of misconduct related to his job, and the investigation appears to be unrelated to his position with the company.
