SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) - Items were stolen from a church in Springfield.Â
The Springfield Police Department said someone came into Immaculate Conception Church at 524 E Lawrence on April 11 around 10 a.m. and took a crucifix and thurible from the alter area.Â
A thurible is a metal vessel surrounded by chains used to burn incense during worship.Â
The items are valued at over $2,000.Â
"These items hold a significant religious and community value as well," Crime Stoppers said.Â
Crime Stoppers released a security camera picture of the suspect inside the church.Â
