DANVILLE, Ill. (WAND) — A Danville man has been arrested in relation to a shooting that injured an 18-year-old on Wednesday evening.
On Wednesday evening around 6:08 p.m., Danville Police responded to the area of Main Street and State Street for a report of shots fired. When officers arrived, they found an 18-year-old Danville man who had been shot in the leg.
The victim said that he had been walking in the area when a man began verbally threatening him. The victim was attempting to leave the area when he heard several shots and was struck by gunfire.
He was transported to a hospital for treatment where he was listed in stable condition according to DPD.
A follow-up investigation identified 27-year-old Kaydo T. Moreman of Danville as a suspect. He was located on Thursday morning and taken into custody.
Moreman is currently being held at the Danville Public Safety Building on the initial charges of aggravated battery with a firearm and possession of firearm by a felon.
