VERMILION COUNTY, Ill. (WAND) - A Danville man has been sentenced to ten years behind bars for home invasion.Â
Antonio Munoz was sentenced to home invasion, a Class X felony.Â
On July 24, 2024, Danville police were called out for a burglary near Martin St. Officers found an air conditioning unit had been taken from a window and was laying on the ground.Â
Police saw a suspect inside the home and told him to get out. The suspect did not come out, and officers forced their way in. The suspect tried to run but was caught.Â
Police found a serrated knife on him. They said he gave them a fake name but was later identified as Antonio Munoz.Â
While searching the home, officers found a woman inside. She said Munoz had broken in wearing a mask and pepper sprayed her.Â
Munoz will have 18 months probation following his 10-year sentence.Â
