DANVILLE, Ill. (WAND) — A Danville mother has been arrested in relation to her child getting shot over the weekend.
The Danville Police Department reports that a child was brought into the emergency department by their mother after having been shot. The child arrived around 3 a.m. on Saturday morning and was treated and released the same day. The department did not provide the child's age.
Upon investigation, DPD arrested the mother, 34-year-old Morgan Nelson of Danville, on charges of unlawful use of a weapon and endangering the life and health of a child.
The department was assisted by the Department of Children’s Family Services to ensure the safety of the child.
