DANVILLE, Ill. (WAND) — A Danville woman has pleaded guilty to one count of second-degree murder.

Lou Ann St. Onge was sentenced to 14 years in prison followed by one year of mandatory supervised release.

During the plea Circuit Judge Robert McIntire heard evidence establishing that on July 16, 2023, St. Onge went to a bar with her longtime domestic partner, Michael Woestman, and after some time they got into an argument and left the bar. He left on foot and she left by car.

He refused to get into the car with her and she intentionally drove into Woestman. An eyewitness called police and St. Onge was taken into custody.

Woestman died from his injuries.

According to the Vermilion County State’s Attorney's office, she made a full confession during which she said, "something snapped" in her mind when she drove into Woestman.
