Deputies searching for man they said fired gun behind Springfield business

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) - The Sangamon County Sheriff's Office is looking for a person of interest after they said someone fired a gun behind a Springfield business.

On December 13 at 5:45 p.m. they said a man came into Qik N Ez at 1101 Stevenson Dr., bought something at the register, and then left, walking towards the east side of the property.

As the person left the store, deputies said surveillance video shows him point a gun in the air, walk into the back parking lot, and fire one round into the air before putting it back in his pocket.

The person left going north toward Cottonwood St.
