DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - The Salvation Army of Decatur & Macon County and Walmart are hosting a Stuff the Bus Campaign on August 15 from 1-8 pm to collect school supplies for local children.
Cash and check donations will also be accepted at a Red Kettle with bell ringers at each entrance. Donations can be made at the MtZ Area Walmart Store located at 4625 E. Maryland Street or at the downtown Salvation Army location at 229 W. Main in Decatur.
Decatur Corps Officer Major Randy Summit said, "As area students start a new school year, we know there is a need to help them and their families with school supplies. We want to supplement students with supplies to start the year and be in a position to help during the school year as well."
Volunteers will provide lists of needed items, and specially marked collection bins will be available.
